Which Bike is right for you?

I was reading the recent issue of bicycling Magazine which I consider one of my most enjoyable magazines to read what I stumbled upon an article on the Pashley Guv’nor bicycle. I was particularly interested in reading the review of this bike as my law partner your Moses owns this very unique and special bike. In addition, it is his only bike and he uses it to commute to work.

Which Bike is Right for You

The reason this is so unique is that this bike is a 1950s style racing bike. It is a heavy steel bike that you would not think of as being a daily commuter. However, for Joel it seems to fit him perfectly. Accordingly, it occurred to me as I was reading this magazine with over 130 reviews of different bicycles that matter how many bikes are produced it still always comes down to which one fits you. This may sound very simple but if you have been biking as long as I have you have come to the conclusion that more then the brand, colors, components or even weight, FIT is the king of them all.

For me, both of my main bikes are Bianchi’s (Infinito Ultegra and Impulso). There is something about the way they fit me that feels right. Of course, one can be fit to almost any bike once you know your exact numbers. I have written about being professionally fitted in other postings so I will not go in great detail here. Suffice to say that I find it one of the best places to spend money. As I am a bicycle injury lawyer, I am acutely aware of every way possible to avoid being injured on a bike. It is one thing to be involved in an accident in which you have no control. However when it comes to being fit properly on your bike that is something you have control over. In any case, as long as you feel like a child when you get on your bike you’ve chosen the right bike!!

Ride.  Be Safe.  Have Fun.
