Don’t let the insurance companies diminish you. What am I talking about? I’m talking about diminished value. I think this is one of those little secrets that the insurance companies are never going to tell you about it. And what diminished value means is if your motorcycle gets damaged and it is repairable, even once it is repaired, the value of your motorcycle has diminished if you would go and sell that motorcycle, even if it was perfectly repaired, once somebody knows it was in a crash for good or bad reasons, they will say they will pay you less money for it because there will be sort of damage in their mind.
That means that even once your bike was fixed by the insurance company, even once it runs perfectly, really, it’s lost some of its value and the whole point of the law for your property damage and for body is to sort of try to make you whole again. Well, to make you whole, they need to do more than fix the motorcycle. They need to give you an additional check for the value that you lost if you were gonna sell that motorcycle. Please, feel free to give me a call about this at 1-800-MOTORCYCLE. It’s something we help with clients all the time, very rarely do people know about it unless they do this for a living. So once again, this is Andrew Kass standing up for bikers that go down. Please do not let the insurance company diminish you in any way.
