Well I finally got out of the cave and took my first outdoor ride since last fall. Wow, how glorious it was. I forgot how much better outside is than the trainer… well I really didn’t forget but it would have helped to. As a bicycle accident lawyer that has been representing injured bikers for over 20 years I appreciated the ONLY benefit of inside, it is very safe! This is the first year where I took my inside training seriously and I felt the difference when I got on the road. As I approach turning 49 I can no longer take off the winters. It is very important as everyone gets back on the road to make sure lights are charged and working. In addition, be very careful, especially in Spring, as motor vehicles are re-adjusting to sharing the road with bicycles.

As a cycling enthusiast this is the time of year I start planning the big rides I will plan for. The first one on my calendar is the Horribly Hilly Hundred (considered the toughest one day ride in the midwest. This is up to 10,000 feet of climbing in a 200k. Should be fun Well that is it for now. As always, I will post blogs about bicycle safety as well as anything about bicycles that I find interesting.
Ride. Be Safe. Have Fun.
