As a cyclist that rides 100-150 miles a week during the non-winter months, I understand how not riding can impact you. First of all, my big appetite for large quantities for food does not cease when my riding does; vis a vis, I GAIN weight. Of course once you gain weight your mood gets affected. Accordingly, the winter is not good for your physical or mental condition. This year I set up a training studiio in my house and have a friend that rides with me. Having a riding partner indoors is perhaps even more important than having one for outdoors. Having an obligation to another person will make your indoor training much more consistent,. In addition, misery loves company :). Seriously, it helps to ride with a friend and when weather permits to get outside for a quick ride; it will remind you why you like to ride. As a bicycle injury lawyer, I always look at the bright side of riding inside, much less likely to get in an accident! So stay in shape, and pray for spring!
Ride. Be Safe. Have Fun.
