The concept of being able to valet your bicycle is such an amazing idea. Everyone knows one of the biggest risks of riding in the city is the likelihood that your bicycle, no matter how well locked, can be stolen. If restaurants and stores have valet for bikers, this will alleviate this fear and encourage for customers.

In this regard, it occurred to me that the single most important factor in encouraging more people to get on their bike is the infrastructure in the city. The places in the US and world that have the highest percentage of daily cyclists also have the best set up. For instance, Groningen in the Netherlands is the #1 place in the world to ride. The entire city is set up where it is actually easier and QUICKER to take your bike than your car. Here it is a great video of what it is like to live there.
