Ok in the Midwest winter has come early and has been harsh. The roads have not been safe for my standards. Though I do find an occasionally brave soul braving the elements. I need the temp to be at least 25 degrees and no ice on the road. So I have not ridden in about 3 weeks and that was only my first ride in the previous 2 weeks. It would seem I am already at a pre-season fitness level if you never ride indoors.
As much as I hate trainers I think I am going to bite the bullet and buy an indoor trainer. The problem is the thought of gaining weight over mindless indoor riding doesn’t seem so bad. Of course come April I will be whistling a different tube. My initial research seems to indicate the kinetic rock and roll trainer is the most realistic (I use that term loosely) to outside riding. It allows you to rock back and forth. Has anyone use these before?

As always, if you are riding outside be careful and please ride with traffic. As you probably know I am a bicycle injury lawyer who represents injured cyclists. However, if you are riding against traffic it makes it difficult or even impossible to have a case if you are injured due to somebody else’s negligence.
Ride. Be Safe. Have Fun.
