In the latest of a slow of recent recalls, Yamaha has recalled 14,320 2015 and 2016 Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycles. The Yamaha recall issue, it appears, are fuel tanks that may eventually leak fuel due to an issue with the mounting bracket. Apparently, engine vibrations can, over time, create contact between the fuel tank and the mounting bracket. This can cause a fuel leak and a potential ignition source.
This is the most recent of several recalls of the Yamaha R3 bikes. Other issues include potential engine seizure and issues with the clutch. The VIN range for affected bikes is between MH3RH06Y3FK001316 and MH3RH06Y8GK015360.
