This is Andrew Kass. I’m a personal injury lawyer and a partner at Kass & Moses and I’ve been practicing personal injury law for over 30 years. A common question we get asked is about property damage: how to take care of it, what steps they need to take. So what I decided to do was create a nine-part video series to go through all the steps and provide some guidance so you could take care of your property damage. Before we get going, I want to explain what is property damage. That is anything that got damaged as a result of your crash. The obvious things would be the damage to your car. It could also be damage to your cell phone, damage to property that you had in the car, anything that you could essentially, that you essentially lost or got damaged as a result of that crash. Property damage and your injury portion are separate claims so keep in mind that you don’t have to settle them together. Often, you would settle your property damage claim first, right after the crash, and then you’d wait to settle the injury portion of that claim at a separate time.
