As may be obvious by now, we are advocates of all things two-wheels. I like to bring out the great work of activists in both the motorcycle world and the bicycle world.   All making the roads safer, the world safer and more peaceful. The group Right of Way is an example of this world view. Their mission statement, right on the front page of their website says it all. “The fundamental human right to move about in public space without being intimidated, injured, or worse is the “right of way”….Right of Way uses direct action to highlight this issue and rectify it. Our mission is to assert the public right of way and turn the streets into vibrant public space for all.” Who can argue with that!

They have even created a vision zero clock to hold new Mayor, Bill de Blasio to his promise of eliminating traffic deaths by 2024.

I think motorcycles and bicycles deserve to be respected on the road. Every driver who is texting, speeding and being aggressive needs to realize the consequences of their actions. Public resources need to be used to create room for MORE two wheel vehicles. The more bicycles and motorcycles on the road, the safer it is for everyone to share the road and even more importantly, the safer it is for the planet.
