Joel Kelly was driving his 2003 in West Plains, Missouri, when he was struck by a deer, causing him to lose control and flip the motorcycle. Fortunately, he survived the crash but suffered serious injuries, and his motorcycle was also uninsured.
Crashes with deer are actually fairly common and sometimes unavoidable. Deer tend to hang in packs. So the moment you see one, you can expect to see others and react accordingly.
What is avoidable is being on an uninsured motorcycle. So please never, never ride on an uninsured bike.
Not only will Joel have to recover from these serious injuries, but he will also now have to cover all the expenses to fix his Harley, which is probably total given the severity of his injury.
So, always look out for deer and other wild animals, especially when you’re riding on RO roads.
Our firm is laser-focused on helping bikers. We’ve been doing this for over 30 years, and we’ll vigorously pursue justice for any motorcycle crash victim.
Drive safe and be safe.
