According to the Hampton Police Division, a resident of Hampton has passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident, as first reported by 13 News Now.

The incident occurred on Sunday at approximately 4:21 p.m. on Whealton Road. Initial findings from a preliminary inquiry indicate that the motorcycle was headed south on Whealton Road in the direction of W. Mercury Boulevard. During this time, an Acura traveling northward made an attempt to execute a left-hand turn. Unfortunately, this maneuver led to a collision between the motorcycle and the Acura.
The operator of the motorcycle, identified as Alvin Claibourne, a 53-year-old individual from Hampton, was transported to Riverside Hospital. Tragically, Claibourne succumbed to his injuries early on Monday morning.
The Hampton Police Division has reported that the driver of the Acura stayed at the scene of the accident and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
