The team at Kass & Moses would like to extend a hearty congratulations to Jessica Blair, the winner of our first annual March Madness Motorcycle Competition. We received nearly 150 entries and hundreds of votes were cast as the tournament progressed. A donation is being made to the Fallen Riders Foundation in Jessica’s name.
Jessica reports that she and her husband purchased her bike on July 19, 2013. It was certainly a monumental day for Jessica as that is also the day she gave birth to a son. Although that had planned to pick up the bike at 10 a.m., their son was born at 8 a.m. But even the arrival of a new baby didn’t delay The Blair’s very much! By noon her husband had picked up the bike. He rode it for a few years before purchasing a new motorcycle and passing this one on to Jessica.

Jessica has managed much of the customization, having the bike professionally painted by a family friend while painting the rims and exhaust herself. She has added blinkers and mirrors, reshaped and reupholstered the seats (adding her nickname, “Little Red”), performing much of the work herself. A few additional changes to the headlights and red lights and Jessica had really made the bike her own.
Jessica has been riding this beauty for about a year. She reports that her best story is of her first day on the bike. She rode for hundreds of miles that day and managed a couple of potentially dangerous situations. The vehicle ahead of her ran over a large piece of metal and then she struck it with her bike. Just as she was starting to calm down from this near disaster, the skies opened up and she was faced with a torrential downpour of rain to make her ride interesting. Fortunately, Jessica rode through it safely.
