As part of our continued efforts at Kass & Moses to fight for the rights of cyclists, Attorney Joel Moses and members of Ride Illinois met with U.S. Representative Rodney Davis. During their meeting on Lobby Day, they discussed the need to protect the health and safety of cyclists by ensuring a safe riding environment. Davis, a strong supporter of cyclists and pedestrians alike, sponsored the Route 66 Centennial Commission Act, which recently passed in the House. This bill serves to both honor and preserve Route 66, including the Illinois Route 66 Trail – a circuit of off-road paths for cyclists and pedestrians.

Even as proponents of cycling on both sides of the aisle come together to create more abundant and safe roadways for cyclists, we know that more must be done. Cycling infrastructure is lacking nationwide, and laws do not always protect the rights of cyclists. We are committed to working to promote cycling, both by protecting injured cyclists and by promoting bicycle safety.
If you have questions about the bicycle laws in your area or have suffered injuries in a bicycle crash, contact us today for a no-obligation assessment of your case.
