Every once in a while your planned ride goes exactly as planned. Not
often but sometimes. That is how my Father’s Day was. I have a 4 year
old daughter and a 5 month old boy so taking long rides is frowned
upon in my household by my wife and daughter. However, I, like most
dads, get a pass on Father’s Day. So I planned on taking a nice 65
mile ride with my brother in law into our “hilly as can be for the
Midwest” area. Weather is perfect, more bikes on the road than cars
and we both are feeling great and moving along at a quick pace for us
(18-21 mph). Then all of a sudden…. We were back home to spend the
rest of our day with family. That is a perfect Father’s Day and it
along with many other great days will remain in my memory and
hopefully create some buoyancy during less great days. Ride safe!
